Yes. You will need to enable customer accounts within Shopify.
To do that, go to your shopify admin Settings > Checkout section and make sure that customer accounts are required.

When a membership charge fails, you can set both how many times you want to attempt rebilling if the charges keep failing, and how often our app should attempt to rebill the membership before cancelling the subscription.
